The increase in visa fees accompanied with the cost of living crisis has put several applicants back against the wall. You might be one of the people in the position where you can apply for a fee waiver to the Home Office.

The fee waiver has two strands to it. When you apply for an application for a visa, what you're effectively doing is you are paying the Home Office to process that application, and there's a whole variety of prices that they charge. And you're also then paying the immigration health surcharge, which is designed to prop the NHS up. If those fees aren't affordable, unless you're applying for indefinite leave to remain or things along those lines, you can go down the route of applying for a fee waiver. It's important, again that you seek legal advice as early as possible because you need to do things within certain deadlines.

There's quite a lot of information that the Home Office asks for when you apply for a fee waiver in terms of making sure that your finances cannot meet those requirements, but there is that option for those people who are looking at that figure and thinking it may be outside of their budget to apply for either a full fee waiver or also a possible one where they give you a discount as opposed to a full waiver of that fee.
